Detroit Mercy vs. Virginia Tech: Hokies freshman Nikeil Alexander-Walker led all scorers with 24 points as Virginia Tech won its opener over the Detroit Mercy Titans 111-79. Kerry Blackshear poured in 23 points and 6 rebounds as well in the win.
