This football club has gone vegan - including their seaweed pitch



FOREST GREEN ROVERS are the world’s greenest football club – and they’re on a mission to save the planet.

Whether it’s vegan beers, organic pitches or a fleet of electric cars, the League Two outfit are determined to show you can run a football club with minimal environmental damage.

SunSport travelled to Gloucestershire – by train, not car it must be stressed, to see how their eco-focused owner Dale Vince has turned this tiny pocket of the Cotswolds into the envy of the climate change movement.

Burgers and chips are off the menu...
There isn’t a traditional pork pie or meat burger in sight at The New Lawn.

Instead, fans feast on £7.20 Q-Pies (Quorn, leek and onion), veggie burgers, mac ‘n’ cheese and vegan hot dogs. And delicious it all is too.
