Early on, United State goalkeeper Zack Steffen makes an incredible leaping save to rob Mexico’s Edson Alvarez of a goal. In the second half, things get chippy when a scuffle ensues after Diego Lainez and Matt Miazga exchange words. Shortly after that, Angel Zaldivar gets sent off with a red card after a hard tackle leaving Mexico a player down. Tyler Adams would capitalize by finding the back of the net for his first ever international goal in the 71st minute for the game’s lone score as the United States holds on for the 1-0 victory. (4:50) Adams explains how it feels to record his first goal for the national team and what it means to score on 9/11, especially being a New York native.
