🇮🇹Outrage over racial abuse at Italy football match | Al Jazeera English

Players targeted with racial abuse is becoming an all too familiar scene in Italian football.

The latest incident took place at the famous San Siro stadium on Boxing Day, targeting Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti says the referee ignored his three requests to suspend the Serie A game against Inter Milan despite Koulibaly being subjected to racist taunts.

The French-born Senegal defender was eventually sent off in the game, which Napoli lost. The 27-year-old has previously been the target of racial abuse in Italy.

Pavel Klymenko of the anti-discrimination body, Football Against Racism in Europe, says this is a big test for those in charge of the Italian game.
