North Carolina vs. Duke: The No. 5 Blue Devils erased a 10-point halftime deficit and held home court against the rival Tar Heels, 74-64. Star freshman Marvin Bagley III scored 18 of his game-high 21 points in the second half and senior Grayson Allen dropped 15 points in his final game in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Cameron Johnson led No. 9 UNC with 16 points in the loss. With the victory, Duke clinched the 2-seed in next week's ACC Tournament.

American Football gehört in den USA zu den absoluten Top-Sportarten! Millionen Zuschauer sitzen jedes Wochenende vor den Fernsehern und in den Stadien. Doch der American Football Hype ist mittlerweile auch in Deutschland angekommen! Woran liegt das? Warum Schauen in den letzten Jahren immer mehr Leute American Football. Was ist so geil daran? Sebastian versucht genau das herausfinden. Er trainiert mit den American Football-Profis der Allgäu Comets, besucht ein GFL-Spiel und trifft American Football-Kult-Moderator Christoph „Icke“ Dommisch.
American Football - die meisten Menschen scheitern bereits am Verständnis der Regeln. Die American-Football-Regeln sind tatsächlich relativ kompliziert und umfangreich. Doch das tut dem Hype um American Football keinen Abbruch. American Football in Deutschland ist auf dem Vormarsch. Doch wie kommt es, dass American Football plötzlich so boomt? Einer der die Antwort kennt, ist Christoph „Icke“ Dommisch. Der Sportjournalist und „ran Football“- Moderator kennt sich mit American Football so gut aus, wie kaum ein zweiter in Deutschland. Ihn hat Sebastian getroffen und mit ihm ausführlich über die Faszination American Football gesprochen.
AMERICAN FOOTBALL HAUTNAH
Sebastian hat für seine Recherche auch ein echtes American-Football-Team besucht – die „Allgäu Comets“! Das Team spielt in der 1. Bundesliga, der German Football League oder Deutschen-American-Football (echt?) –Liga! Sebastian schaut dabei Johannes ganz genau über die Schulter. Johannes spielt seit ca. sieben Jahren American Football. Er zeigt Sebastian worauf es beim American Football ankommt und worauf er achten muss, damit er sich nicht verletzt. Und natürlich hat Sebastian Johannes auch zu einem Bundesliga-Spiel begleitet. Gegen die Stuttgart Scorpions hat sich Johannes richtig reingehängt – und am Ende leider verletzt.
REGELN AMERICAN FOOTBALL
Beim American Football ist das Ziel, den Football in die Endzone des Gegners zu bringen, zum Beispiel mit einem Touchdown. Beim American Football stehen immer zwei Mannschaften auf dem Feld, zu je elf Spielern. Einen sogenannten Touchdown kann man durch Werfen, Passen (Unterschied zwischen Werfen uns passen?) und Rennen erzielen. Die „Offense“ (angreifende Mannschaft) einer Mannschaft hat vier Versuche, einen Raumgewinn von zehn Yards oder mehr zu erlangen. Schafft sie dies, erhält sie vier neue Versuche, gelingt ihr dies nicht, geht das Angriffsrecht an die andere. Gewonnen hat diejenige Mannschaft, die am Ende die meisten Punkte erzielt hat. Steht es am Ende der regulären Spielzeit unentschieden, gibt es im American Football eine „Overtime“ – Verlängerung. Gespielt wird in der GFL – der German Football League – in Vierteln. Ein Viertel dauert 12 Minuten!
